Become a FARM Host
We publish a Host Farm Directory that lists more than 1,400 organic (USDA certification optional) farms and gardens across the country (including Hawaii, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico) in which each host describes their farm, location, crops, lifestyle, and general responsibilities. Any farm, community or garden project in the United States that is willing to welcome volunteers can participate in our program. Generally, WWOOFers volunteer for half a day on farms in exchange for room and board. Hosts do not offer monetary compensation to WWOOFers, as they are not laborers on your farm. Rather, we are participating in an exchange of eduction and culture. We do not allow Host Farm Profiles to offer stipend or other monetary compensation. We encourage all types of hosts that would enjoy working with volunteers to join WWOOF-USA®. The online directory is updated any time a host edits their profile. The printed directory is produced twice a year. In between printings, new hosts can be accessed online and are included in an addendum with the mailed directory. We always encourage you to keep your profile accurate and up-to-date by frequently reviewing your Host profile online.

Existing Hosts
Please review your listing often, and make any changes to your profile. It is important that each listing is up to date and accurate. All host profile changes and submissions are reviewed by WWOOF-USA administration, daily.
New Hosts - How It Works
Host farms decide and describe the criteria for accepting volunteers: length of stay, experience desired, hours worked per day or week, etc. We do not allow Host Farm Profiles to mention any exchange of money, as WWOOFers are not farm laborers. Volunteers, or ‘WWOOFers’, receive the directory, look for a compatible host farm, and contact hosts directly to discuss responsibilities, hopes and expectations before arrival. Make sure to have clear and open conversation regarding your hopes expectations of WWOOFers, and listen to theirs. This is your opportunity to guide the process toward a mutually beneficial situation- we recommend speaking on the telephone to allow for conversation. Likewise, please respond to all inquiries from WWOOFers, even if you are unable to accept WWOOFers at that time. We always recommend having telephone conversation beyond emails communication, to allow for lots of clear and open conversation in order to arrive at an agreeable arrangement.
HOW TO VERIFY A POTENTIAL WWOOFER's membership
Once you are logged in, here is how you can check out member profiles:
At the top navigation bar, select the tab "FARMS". Then, on the left side navigation bar, select "SEARCH MEMBERS". In the search bar, enter the member's full name. This will display the member's profile, which may contain more information, comments from previous hosts, photos, etc.
