How to Apply to WWOOF USA
please read everything below before joining

ATTENTION: Please read before purchasing directory! For security purposes we are currently unable to send you a user name and password via email.  We understand that this is an inconvenience and are working to correct this problem.  In the meantime, we appreciate your patience in this matter.  PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE A DIRECTORY, USER NAME, AND PASSWORD IN THE US POSTAL MAIL (in approximately 7-10 business days, longer for overseas).

You are encouraged to apply if you are willing to work cooperatively with organic farmers for 4-6 hours per day. If you are under 18 years of age, you must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Children are welcome at many farms, just be sure to ask the host farmer before arriving. The same goes for pets.

WWOOF-USA cannot support any requests regarding obtaining a visa. You are responsible for your travel and/or student visa. The United States Embassy grants temporary visas to those individuals who want to enter the United States. Applying for a visa should be done as soon as possible as it can take several months depending on the embassy in your country.

TO APPLY FOR WWOOF-USA MEMBERSHIP: When you become a member of WWOOF-USA, you receive a directory of more than 600 host farms in the US, including Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands, that welcome volunteers.

  • WWOOF-USA memberships are valid for one year, please remember to renew.
  • Once you become a member, we will send you a directory and online member password by US Postal Mail. The full directory is available online to members only. You need a membership password to access the full directory.
  • The directory serves as a membership card that you must show to farmers upon arrival to his/her farm.
  • After you sign up online with a credit card, or once we receive your application by mail, expect about 7-10 business days for your directory to arrive, longer if you live outside of the US.

Once you receive the directory, contact the farm(s) where you are interested in WWOOFing. You may need to reserve a place well in advance of your arrival. Check with hosts if you have special needs, such as diet, or if you are interested in bringing children or pets. Different hosts can make different accommodations, and with more than 700 farms in the directory, you are sure to find what you are looking for.

Single memberships are $20.00 and dual memberships for two people travelling together are $30.00. You can join online or through the mail. Contact us if you have any questions.
